Buninyong Bowling Club will hold a day of intensive training by an internationally renowned coach to help women at the club up their game.

Michaela Settle Member for Buninyong visited Buninyong Bowling Club today to announce that a $5,000 grant from the Victorian Governments Change Our Game Community Activation Grants Program will help up to 100 local women up their skills.

Buninyong Bowling Club will hold a day of intensive training for up to 100 women from Buninyong and other bowls clubs in the Ballarat region.  Run by an internationally renowned coach to day will help local women build their confidence and skills in bowls setting them up to compete in local competitions and improve their game.

It is also a way for women to build social connections and support networks to bring more women into the game locally.

The Change Our Game Community Activation Grants Program funds one-off community level events that celebrate the role of women and girls in sport and active recreation.

Grants of up to $10,000 are available to support community sport and recreation organisations to deliver events that promote gender equality.

Since 2017, more than 380 Change Our Game grants have been awarded and this work will continue following the recent 2021-22 Victorian State budget announcement of $11.6 million to fund the continuation of the Office for Women in Sport and Recreation.
