BRIGHT NEW LEARNING SPACES OPEN AT DARLEY PRIMARY SCHOOL

The Allan Labor Government is upgrading more schools across Victoria so students and staff across the state – including at Darley Primary School – can have brighter, safer and more inspiring spaces to learn and work.

Michaela Settle, Member for Eureka today visited the school to officially open the brand-new administration building and tour the recently completed upgrade works.

In the Victorian Budget 2022/23, Darley Primary School received $10.7 million for a series of building upgrades, which have delivered modernised and contemporary learning spaces for more than 500 students at the school.

Building schools is an investment in our kids' future and we have the largest school building program in the country - our $18.5 billion investment over 11 years has seen 123 new government schools funded and delivered more than 2,300 school upgrades.

These investments will ensure every child can get a great education and that our schools can cater for Victoria’s growing population.

Victorian Budget 2025/26 is investing a further $411 million to fund new and expanded schools, $321.7 million to upgrade 35 schools across the state, $342 million for school maintenance, and $25 million for small-scale projects via the Capital Works Fund.

A further $10 million will go towards planning future upgrades at 20 schools across Victoria.
