GRANT ANNOUNCEMENTS TO SUPPORT VETERANS

Member for Eureka Michaela Settle MP today joined the Committee 4 Warrenheip Inc. to announce the group’s successful application for the Victoria Remembers grant program.

The Committee 4 Warrenheip Inc. will receive $3,836 to help establish the Warrenheip War Memorial, a community initiative to create a poignant and educational war memorial near the Warrenheip Memorial Hall.

The project will pay tribute to Warrenheip veterans and serve as a place of reflection and education for residents and students at the nearby Warrenheip Primary School.

Michaela Settle MP also announced the Ballarat Veterans Assistance Centre as a recipient of the Anzac Day Proceeds Fund. The group will receive $15,000 to extend their innovative bee-keeping well-being program for Australian Defence Force veterans and $6,200 for direct welfare support to veterans and their families.

The Anzac Day Proceeds Fund supports ex-service organisations to deliver a range of activities that boost the well-being of veterans, with 19 organisations supported to continue their work delivering important services to veterans and their families that provide services to veterans and their families.

The Allan Labor Government is supporting veterans’ groups to honour the service and sacrifice of local veterans with new well-being supports and grant programs to give veterans the support they need.

Applications are now open for two grant programs to fund building and facility upgrades for community organisations.

The Veterans Capital Works program gives local organisations funding to upgrade their buildings and facilities for Victoria’s veterans. Interested organisations can apply for grants of up to $50,000 for projects that can be completed within a year.

The Restoring Community War Memorials and Avenues of Honour program provides grants of up to $30,000 for projects that restore community war memorials, honour rolls, and avenues of honour and closes on January 29.
